Apple started it with the successful release of their IPad and now it appears all the other tech companies are gearing up for WAR!

RIM has already purchased the domain name www.blackpad.com and analysts suggest that the BlackPad might be available in the US by November of this year.
The blackpad it expected to have seemless relationship with the smartphone devices. The Blackberry BlackPad will be able to connect to any BlackBerry phone via Bluetooth and It will have still Wi-Fi but no 3G connectivity. When the Blackpad hits the market RIm will be competing head on with the Apple iPad and newest kid on the block, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Tablet PC with Android OS 2.2
The Galaxy is currently available in a 7 inch model. A 10 inch model is expected to be released next year.
