Playstation users worldwide are feeling a little bit PSPeeved today, that’s because a glitch in the Playstation Network has left all users on all continents unable to connect to the online service. Playstation Network, which has about 38 million users worldwide, is an internet based service that connects PS3 consoles to online stores, software downloads, multiplayer game platforms and when you really need it to… video porn sites (I’ve heard… wink wink).
The problem with the network seems to be affecting only the older PS3 consoles and not the newer slim models. Sony released a statement via twitter and a blog yesterday. They said:
“We’re aware that many of you are having difficulty connecting to the PS3 Network this evening… Know that we have narrowed down the issue and have engineers working to restore service even as you read this…”
That was last night… as of this report there has been no new news…
Soon Fans of Palm may be getting some bad news. Rumor has it that despite having excellent carrier support from Verizon and Sprint, the company just can’t seem to get any traction for it’s products. Analysts are saying that despite new releases like the Palm Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus. Palm only has .7 percent of the smart phone market compared to 14.4 percent for Apple and 20 percent for RIM. If you currently have a Palm Pre need not worry… they make excellent pocket mirrors, paperweights, or an excellent stone for skipping across lakes.
For all you people out there that want to play something a little more intense than Connect 4 on your iPhone… then I’ve got some news for you…
Get your Haduken’s ready because Capcom has just announced that it will be releasing the latest Street Fighter game, Street Fighter 4 on the IPhone. Now it looks like the game will be designed with a virtual joystick on one side and four virtual buttons on the other… I don’t really know how that’s gonna work out, but Capcom says that the game will have a large number of fighters to choose from and the ability play multiplayer via Bluetooth so I guess they are hoping that Street Fighter Fanatics will just grin and bear it. The IPhone will be the only handheld device to get the game which definitely says something about the future of gaming… and also about the power of Apple.
Something else that says something about Apple… It appears that although Steve Jobs didn’t highlight it during his presentation The iPad enclosure contains an empty space that would be appropriate for a notebook-style iSight camera. The lack of a camera in Apple’s new Tablet PC has left many consumers disappointed when the product launched.
Industry insiders are saying that Apple may include one in the final shipping versions… or in the 2.0 model… Apple’s IPad hits stores this May, with a starting price at $499… camera… not included.
