Amber Rose Talks “Fame”, Kim K commments
Amber Rose joined The Brekfast Club to discuss her new single “Fame”, her comments about Kim Kardashian, her relationship with Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, leaked nude photos, and more.
Amber discusses her debut song “Fame” saying, “I prepared myself for the criticism. For people to just hate even if they did like it. But I prepared myself and it’s been nothing but positive feedback so I’m happy.” Angela asks when she decided to sing and Amber talks about Wiz’ advice to her.
Amber clarifies the comments she made about Kim Kardashian and discusses “rebounding” with Reggie Bush after Kanye. “Both of our feelings were very hurt over the situation. We never told anbody, we never told the media what happened. But the story was very, very true what I said in Star magazine. I just felt bad because I’m not the type of person to hurt anyones feelings even if they hurt mine first. I feel bad for calling her a homewrecker even though what happened in the situation. I’m all about women empowerment. I feel like I stooped down to her level by calling her a homewrecker. I didn’t want to do that. It was just the heat of the moment and I was just upset because I feel like, her and her family manipulate the media and they make it seem like, ‘Me and Reggie did something bad or I broke up her relationship with Reggie.’ And it’s just not the case.”
She talks about her relationship with Wiz Khalifa, if he ever gets mad at her for anything, her nude pictures leaking from an ex-assistant, saying she preferred women over men on Lip Service, her Smirnoff deal and Master of the Mix show, what qualifies her to be a judge on dj show, trying to give up smoking cigarettes, taking singing lessons and working with a choreographer.
Angela asks her if she still hangs out with her old friends. “When you become famous, people think that you’re being a different person because you can’t be the same person you used to be. And I was just constantly hearing that from her. and I’m just like, ‘Yo I can’t be with the bottles of Henny in pictures with you anymore. We can’t do that.’ I have to support my mother and my family. I just can’t do those Philly things that I used to do… I don’t live that same life. I’m a different person now. I grew up and my other friends didn’t. So you got to let them go.”
On her relationship with Kanye West, Amber says, “I’m going to be very honest with y’all. When Kanye reffered to me in his songs, he didn’t care about the repercussions. He didn’t care that I had to walk around in the street and people we’re throwing things at me. He didn’t care that I have this celebrity status now and people recognize me.”
DJ Envy says it made her seem like a money grubbing whore. “And the thing of it is if I was such a money grubbing whore, then why were we together for two years and we lived together for two years and we traveled the world together. We had a relationship… it was a serious relationship. Everything that he said in his music he didn’t care about the repercussions of what I had to go through. I’m a very positive person. I kept my mouth shut for so long because I didn’t even want to entertain all that. I just want to move on with my life, just leave me alone.”
Finally, Amber talks about her Vibe magazine cover story saying, “I gave them a very candid story about my life. I never looked at Vibe as a tabloid magazine. And when I looked at my interview it was very tabloid-ish. They were like, I was in the studio with my ex and and I was screaming at him, ‘You haven’t f***** me in three days. Can you come and f*** me?’ They wrote all that stuff in there and I’m like, c’mon, that’s not even me. I been with Wiz for a year, and Wiz knows that’s not even my style, I dont do stuff like that. So when they said all that, I’m like I cant even bang with them. It made me upset. It just added to what people thought about me that wasn’t true.”
