“Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s “Funny or Die” Web site has been shooting videos encouraging young people to vote just days before the election. The three-minute spots shot by “Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer feature former Obama White House staffer Kal Penn and Rashida Jones of “The Office,” who was once linked to White House speechwriter Jon Favreau. The scripts emphasize that it takes just 10 minutes to vote and are packed with pop-culture laughs about tasks that take longer, such as, “Finish a war that somebody else started. Wait, actually, that will take 10 years” and, “searching (online) for Lindsay Lohan rehab updates.” Performers featured in the videos — which have yet to be posted — are believed to include Michael Pena, Donald Glover, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, Ron Livingston, Gillian Jacobs, Brad Goreski, Criss Angel, Chris Gorham, Shannon Elizabeth, Armie Hammer, Eric McCormack, Eriq LaSalle and Mary Lynn Rajskub.”

Next Tuesday I will be voting.. but let’s keep it real, one of the incentives about voting is that it takes way more than ten minutes. When you factor in the half hour you either shave from the time you arrive at work, or the time you leave work, the time it takes you to break your normal commute routine, and the time it’s going to take waiting in line as the our countries senior citizens or recently paroled try to coordinate voters to the voting booths in a ordinarly but sloooooooow moving fashion… you’re looking at an hour inconvenience at least.
A small price to pay however to renew your right to complain. See you at the polls. Pause.
