Sommore Talks Comedy, Performing

Sommore joined The Breakfast Club before her comedy shows this past weekend at Carolines. She discusses the hustle of traveling and performing stand up shows around the country saying:

“I’m so glad that I’m not just an actress, I would probably be skinny as hell if I was just an actress,” she says jokingly. “Like waiting on a movie role. Probably begging Tyler Perry to put me in something. So the fact that I am a stand up comedian and I tell people all the time, when you don’t see us on TV, we’re working. I work anywhere they have a microphone, I’m there doing stand up, it’s what I love to do.”

Angela discusses turning down an offer with Charlamagne to host at a comedy club saying they would have to be funny and she’s not going to play herself.

“Exactly and it’s so good you said that because a lot of people really don’t respect, I think they don’t respect what we do. They think it’s so easy.. It’s one thing to be funny in a barbershop, it’s one thing to be funny around your friends, but when you go to a city where nobody knows you, people paid money to see you bee funny, that’s a whole nother kind of funny. And I’m one of those comics, I’m not a silly person. I’m not silly so people don’t laugh at me, they laugh with me. And that’s a whole nother different kind of comedy also.”

Sommore shares her thoughts on sex, here worst performance when her “cycle came on,” Khloe Kardashian rumors, Blue Ivy‘s name (“Is that the best ya’ll can do?”), reality shows (“I love it”), cheating (“I’m not that arrogant as a person to believe that my man would only be with me”) and more!
