One person I admire tremendously stopped by The Morning After and we talked about her transition into TV, her new season and new markets, and her first love…radio!
Wendy Williams talks about guests she would love to have on her new season of “The Wendy Williams Show” and how she has grown into her role as a daytime TV talk show host:
“Certainly I am a more mature Wendy than I’ve ever been, and that naturally happens as we get older and we celebrate birthdays. I will be 46 years old next week, yes I’m 46, and I fly that flag really high..I haven’t had plastic surgery on my face but good black does crack. I get proper sleep and proper exercise, physically speaking I still do have the upper arms and everything like that, but I’ve never felt more physically fit. I feel confident as a mother, little Kev turns 10 next month. I’ve been married for 12 years. I have 20 something years of radio behind me and I don’t know how much TV i have in front of me but I am not scared to take the bull by the horns and be exactly who I am.. I’m going international next week, over 52 countries. How you doing…Africa. How you doing…Bali!”
Wendy also addresses the misconceptions about her, and says that she is not a liar or embellisher. Then she reveals that she might be coming back to radio! Awwww sheeeeeeiiiit!
“There will only be one first love and that is radio. I don’t miss it though, the only reason why I don’t miss it is because I don’t have enough time in the day…given the right circumstance I would come back to radio. I would carve out that place, I think that my guys at home perfectly understand…I miss touching this mic. I miss it terribly. There’s parts about it that I really do miss, but right now I just had to separate from it for a moment to really focus on this TV thing and I really do enjoy doing TV, but given the right opportunity I would also like to court a little radio again.”
The bonus episodes start airing today and the new season starts after Labor Day.[audio:http://angelayee.mystagingwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Wendy-Williams-07-09-10.mp3]
