VH1 Hip-Hop Honors Red Carpet
I’ve been seeing the previews for the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors which is celebrating Def Jam’s 25th Anniversary. Although it’s been taped and discussed to no end on twitter, I do have some interview footage from the red carpet. I always say that it’s not so easy to do these interviews, because it’s a frenzy of people asking questions, taking pictures, and in general just distracted. But I did have a good time AND I’m looking forward to the BET Hip-Hop Awards red carpet in Atlanta.
I have one regret about these interviews, and it’s the fact that I didn’t get a chance to ask Lyor my one potty mouth question. Do you have any idea what I was about to ask him? And why didn’t Mike Kyser stop for me!
Wale reveals how he found out he would be joining Jay-Z on tour and ducks & dodges questions about Solange. Warren G speaks about his new album and tour, and people acting shady with him this go round. Parrish is still making dollars. Ghostface gives some insight on how he signed to Def Jam when things got f*cked up at Sony, and talks reality show in the works.

Eve says she gets it from her mama, and that Ruff Ryders will always be family. Chrisette Michele says she’s single and but married to the idea that she’ll find that special guy one day. Then I get tripped up when the great Julie Greenwald and Lyor Cohen stop by to discuss my potty mouth. And Sticky Fingaz is still drunk from the night before, although he won’t admit it (notice the glitter all over him!) Fabolous finally admits that twitter gets him in trouble but it does let us see his funny side, and we get a second with Ashanti.

DMX is still, um, DMX and says he has a reality show coming out next month that will be more in depth than the BET one. Trey Songz lists the R&B artists that he would honor, and states that he’s about to take his first vacation on his birthday. Skillz stops past and gets on me for always asking him tough question about fingers in his a$$ (sorry Skillz!) Then I show Jazzy Jeff a lot of respect while he discusses how he really wants to go in the studio and do another record but he can’t get off the road. Flavor Flav says he has a talk show in the works, etc.
