Vanessa Satten of XXL Magazine Talks 2015 Freshman List, Selection Process And Snubs

Today, the Editor In Chief of XXL Magazine, Vanessa Satten stopped by the Breakfast Club and brought along fellow editor Miranda J to discuss the revelation of this years XXL Freshman list. As with every year, there are some controversies about notable snubs, with Satten eluding to the fact that PARTYNEXTDOOR and iLoveMakonnen from Drake’s OVO Sound both declined being on the list. Also discussed was the selection process and how the nominees are deciphered. This is very important considering that it takes months to determine who will make the final list. One of the most popular artists from this years crop of talent is Fetty Wap, and the pair spoke on not only his commercial success, having the number one song on the billboard charts, but also the level of love and appreciation he receives from New Jersey and New York based music fans, a very difficult market to break into.
