If he felt guilty about the leaked photos of him and his assistant:
“No actually I felt a little freedom after that, because there was actually something going on other than that. That was good, I think that happening was good for the other person involved because it kinda covered up what was going to be inevitable. But there was something else going on, that it was going to part anyway.. So I didn’t feel guilty, I felt more relieved, like we don’t have to walk around acting like everything’s all good.”
Not being able to record with artists outside of Def Jam:
“Yeah, its kinda true. If there’s an artist thats in competition with another artist on another label, then I can’t give a song to somebody else without giving it first to the artists that’s on Def Jam.”

“No, not at all. I think it’s about logic and common sense. I think they have me in there because I’m thinking from an artist stand point and just from records. it’s not about politics. It’s trying to put somebody on or whatever it is. It’s not about the politics with me. So I get to sit in the meeting and say whatever I get to say, and not have to worry about getting fired. It’s different for [an artist]. It’s just hard when somebody probably has three ideas that they brought in and got shot down. I’d rather be the one to bring up an idea from somebody else, and put it on the table without fear.”

“Artists, what they are at the end of the day are regular people. We put this thing on them that somehow they’re above the standards of life, and it’s just not like that. you know a lot of things go on in people’s personal business, and sometimes thing’s work themselves out even though it’s a circumstance that you’re not thinking like, this is never going to be how it’s supposed to be.”

“Well I think one of the things about me, people hate that I’m so easy to get along with. I think, if a relationship ends or whatever it is, once I’ve logically diagnosed you a certain thing, I’m fine, and I’m good. I can be your friend, I can love you from a distance, we somehow could get something back started, But at the end of the day, I don’t have time for all that. I have too much money”

“Just on the record, nobody pushes my album back. I just keep delaying it…”
“Spring, summer, sometime soon. You can’t hold dates to people [and] business. Especially with R&B. I think what were trying to figure out and learn from R&B is that R&B is not Rap and it can’t be worked, it can’t be distributed like how Rap records are. Even the singles, R&B takes longer. Stop putting on the, when it’s coming out, you don’t know.”
