Ras J. Baraka, the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, stopped by The Breakfast Club with fellow Newark-native Actor JD Williams (most known for his role on “Oz”) to talk about his new program called Youth One Stop. It’s helps Newark residents to find jobs in their city. Rah Digga, JD Williams, and a few others are teaching classes to the youth, which includes and is not limited to acting, music industry, photography and the ins and outs of the business. Once the youth and the adults finish that program, they usually enter a vocational school. His goal is to reduce crime in Newark. In addition, the mayor shares the details about his talks with local gang members in hopes of changing the landscape and atmosphere in Newark.
