Yandy Smith and Kimbella joined The Breakfast Club to discuss VH1’s Love and Hip Hop season 2 premiere. Yandy is Jim Jones’ manager and Kimbella has a 14-month old son with Juelz Santana.
Angela Yee asked if they weren’t invited to the premiere screening. Yandy said they had separate screenings for Mama Jones and them so there would be enough time for interviews. DJ Envy asked Yandy about the rumors of her and Jim Jones sleeping together. “Of course not,” she replies. “You know my character, you know who I am. I pride myself on my reputation. I’m a good person and I’m all about business. All that drama and nonsense has never been me, and never will be me.”
When they ask Yandy if she still manages Jim, she responds, “You guys got to watch the show. That whole situation plays out on the show. Me and Jim will always do business. That’s my brother, my friend, my everything.” Angela asked if doing the show messed up their relationship and Charlamagne Tha God asks if it was good for business.
Kimbella and Juelz met on Twitter through DM. Kim says she wanted to do the show to meet the women, but she wanted to meet Chrissy Lampkin, Jim Jones’ fiancee, more than anyone. In the season premiere, Emily B was having a “freedom party” after her and Fabolous broke up. Kim told Emily at the party that she dated Fab three years ago. Emily was pregnant with his child at the time. Kimbella says it was edited, but Emily told her, “‘I’m happy you told me because I seen your number in his phone… so I’m happy you told me.'”
Charlamagne asked her why she told Emily “then and there” calling it “tacky and classless”. They discuss Chrissy getting involved and hitting Kimbella. Kim talks about Juelz’ reaction after she told Emily and if he knew she slept with Fab before the show. DJ Envy asked Kim if it bothers her that her 9 year old son sees her fighting on TV and what she tells him about it.
Angela asks Kimbella if she indulges in threesomes with Juelz. “We have a family,” Kim says. “We don’t really have time for that. It’s too much with me and him. We have a really healthy relationship. So we don’t need to involve outsiders.” They ask about Juelz getting arrested last week and Kim discusses her relationship with Lil Kim and Queen Pen saying they’re like sisters.
Yandy says she’s cool with Chrissy and loves Mama Jones. “Working with an artist like Jim, you need a support system,” Yandy says. “So I’ll be like, ‘Chrissy can you get him up? Chrissy, why is he not picking up? Is he mad at me today?’ So definitely.”
They talk about if they regret doing the show and if they’ll do another season. Yandy says, “When I got casted for the show, I felt like, ‘It’s a commercial. I know how often these TV shows run. They play the new episode 5 times a day, 7 days a week.’ So I said, ‘Listen, I need to build this brand. And if I want to be on this show, I need to promote myself and promote something that’s going to get me some money.'” She talks about her jewelry line and says to check out her website www.everythinggirlslove.com
