“I call us Generation E. We’re educated, we’re employed, we empower each other, and we’re entrepreneurs.”
Kevin Liles joined The Breakfast Club to discuss his partnership with Career Motivations that allows young adults discover what really “motivates” them career wise by taking a free test at http://www.careermotivations.com/kevin-liles-challenge/.
“[I wanted to] create a virtual guidance counselor, create something where people can access themselves, so if you want to take the test and pay for it, it’s a $129, but I partnered with Career Motivations and said, ‘Listen guys, I have to give a million of these away. Before people go to school, I want to give a million of these away.’ So we worked it out, I’m going to give a million away to kids and adults all over the country to say, ‘Hey, be a better you. Don’t sit back and allow the economy to change your life in a way where you can’t bounce back, press reset on your life or get educated.”
“I read this alarming fact. If you’re 24 years old and you’re not in school, 20% of you are unemployed. If you’re 24 years old and are african american and you’re not in school, 49% are unemployed. If you’re hispanic, 39% are unemployed.”
“I always tell people, I really don’t think I’m here just to be in the music business, so I stopped like 10 years ago I said look I’m really in the life changing business because I take a kid who had a dream and i’ll make him one of the most important brands in the world, and then he employs people to build even more.”
