Gunplay joined The Breakfast Club to discuss coming up under Rick Ross, their group Triple C’s, his past drug use and MMG’s new jacks.
“I been getting money with Maybach for a long time. It’s about time somebody else get some of this money. THey talented brothers, they deserve they opportunity, they got a helluva fan base and they just genuine brothers. At the end of the day, they cool dudes. No jealousy.”
“I had to make that transition to really buckle down and really do this music stuff. I am that goon, I was that wild n****, but that shit only take you but so far. And then when they just think of you as just that hype man and all that, you don’t get no money. I ain’t just a hype man, I’m hype man.”
“I was on [drugs] bad. I was letting it mess up my business. It’s not only me that suffers from that, it’s everyone around me because I reflect my people. When you see me out there and I’m drunk and I’m high, that’s a reflection of Ross and Poochie and Black and the whole Maybach staff. I can’t do that, so I had to really detox myself. One morning I woke up on Memorial Day weekend and I just stopped. I took my last bump and that was it. Took my last blast and that was it. Got myself together, got my music together and just got focused.
