Dawn Richard, pronounced Rich’ard, returned to the Breakfast Club to promote her latest album Blackheart. The album has been doing very well independently, hitting number one the on the electronic charts, considering that the project is very experimental in nature and crosses genres. On the outset of the interview, the rumors of Dawn’s supposed plastic surgery were addressed, with her stating that she doesn’t know where the gossip is coming from but does not mind it either. Also discussed was the true story behind the fallout of Danity Kane’s latest reunion and the fighting rumors. Dawn expressed that there was too much selfishness carrying on for the group to succeed and that is eventually what led to the downfall. With his love-hate relationship with Diddy-Dirty Money, Charlamagne was compelled to bring on the group, and Dawn expressed that she enjoyed her time in the group, but Diddy was the one who pulled the plug on the collective. Now with her new project available, and doing very well, along with her successful businesses and entrepreneurship, Dawn is the perfect example of a black woman succeeding independently.
