Tyrese Talks Transformers, R&B Music

Tyrese Gibson stopped by The Breakfast Club to promote his new movie, Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. He discusses working with Taraji P. Henson while filming Baby Boy. Their both on the cover of Ebony magazine this month, 10 years after the movie was released. He clarifies that he’s not a relationship expert, but “just a dude with an opinion.” Charlamagne asks him what he thinks about dating multiple women at the same time. He discusses shooting Transformers, the rumored Luke Cage movie, and working on his new album Open Invitation. He talks about his music fans being frustrated and says theres another kind of r&b music out right now.

“The spirit and the integrity of r&b just went in the wrong direction right now. A lot of people singing about sex, and you don’t want to have sex to their music. So anything that sounds close to good, their gravitating towards it.”

He talks about being active on Twitter and the criticism that comes with it. He discusses getting at Kim Kardashian for not supporting La La. Charlamagne seeks out Dr. Gibson’s advice, asking him if his feelings about wanting to sleep with as many women as possible, will ever leave his system.
