Trevor Noah had big shoes to fill after Jon Stewart’s departure from television. Winning his first Emmy wasn’t his only win this week. Trevor went on social media to announce that Comedy Central has extended his contract until 2022. He is taking late night television by storm and this is only the beginning for Trevor Noah.

Let me begin by saying thank you- thank you to every single person who has been and continues to be a part of this amazing journey we call life. My fans in South Africa who propelled me into the world, my team @thedailyshow and @comedycentral, and of course every single person who continues to watch the show every night. This week I celebrated winning my first Emmy and the extending of my deal to continue hosting the Daily Show until 2022. I work hard but I know nothing is achieved alone. So thank you all for your love and support. And of course thank you Jon Stewart you crazy wonderful man.
