New Boyz Done Jerkin’

New Boyz burst on the scene in 09′ with the release of their hit single “You’re A Jerk.” They released their debut album, Skinny Jeanz and a Mic later that year, which spawned their second hit single “Tie Me Down” featuring Ray J. Since then, Ben J & Legacy have been working hard on their sophomore album Too Cool to Care, which was released last Tuesday. They stopped by The Breakfast Club to discuss the new album and talk about growing as artists over the years.

They talk about how they got the skinny jeans style saying that’s where their core fan base comes from. Legacy talks about not producing as much on the new album because he lost his laptop. Charlamagne talks about gaining respect for the New Boyz after he saw them perform live. They talk about stepping up their game for the second album, being put in a box because of the “jerk movement,” and their BET Award nomination for “Best Group.”
