Longest Snake Replacement

Longest Snake Replacement

This undated photo provided by the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium shows a newly acquired python that arrived Tuesday Nov. 16, 2010 at the zoo in Columbus, Ohio. Weeks after announcing the death of the longest snake in captivity, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium said Wednesday it has acquired that python’s smaller daughter. The zoo’s new snake is 12 years old and 6 feet shorter than her mother. Eighteen-year-old Fluffy stretched 24 feet, about the length of a moving van, when she died Oct. 27 of an apparent tumor. The zoo says in a statement that the daughter came from the same private breeder who sold Fluffy to the zoo in 2007.
