With Charlamagne not in studio today, Heavyweight Boxing contender Derric Rossy stopped by The Breakfast Club to promote his upcoming fight this weekend against Akhror Muralimov. The title bout will take place at the World Resort Casino located in New York City as well as airing on CBS Sports. In the interview, Rossy spoke about his upbringing on Long Island, as well as how he transitioned into boxing. Attending Boston College to play football, due to being undersized, he was ineligible to play professionallly and gravitated toward boxing because of the cardio. Of course, the topic came up of the outspokenness of fellow fighters such as Floyd Mayweather and Adrien Broner, with Rossy stating that he prefers to be calm and reserved in his approach. He also expounded on preferring to fight with a smaller promotion company as opposed to Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy promotions because of the personal attention he receives instead of being on big roster of talent. Rossy also debunked the myth of no sex before a fight, stating that it does not have any physical benefits but merely gets a fighter in the proper mindset prior to a fight. Check all of that out and more in the interview above.
