Itunes bonus cut of the newly released Twista album Category F5 shouldn’t be a bonus cut in my opinion. Mr West delivers with a funky electro sounding beat while he and Twista rip it down. Bonus cut??? Really???

DRAKE “THE WINNER”

Reef’s take:

There’s a lot of love/hate for Drake out there but I don’t fall for it. Despite the arguments and debates about who he may or may not sound like or whatever, I think he’s nice. Negate the hate peoples–the guy can make hit records and this is another “winner” with a hot track courtesy of homies from The Bay–The Bizness.

So there was love for this song as well as some hate. Go figure…

RAKIM “HOLY ARE YOU”

Reef’s take:

First look from the God MC’s upcoming solo release. C’mon folks it’s Rakim!!! I don’t care how “old school” he may be considered, he will always get a first look just because of who he is—period . Deep spiritual/metaphysical lyrics and metaphors are intact and I eagerly await the album.

Callers take:

Brought the purists out to support the song but it also brought out a couple of haters who didn’t like it at all.

FABOLOUS “LULLABY”

Reef’s take:

New heat from Fab’s upcoming Loso’s Way which hits stores on the 28th. Alchemist produced banger that allows Fab to deliver some catchy punchlines and wordplay.

Reef’s take:

The homie Tip is gone for a sec but he was getting his studio grind on before he left. Special invited guest is the legendary Scarface and it’s a natural fit. The lovely Miss Hilson adds her sweet tones to a song that has an inspired and uplifting feel to it.
