Mayweather’s Statement to Pacman

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has released a statement regarding why the fight with Pacquiao won’t happen. Some people have accused him of being scared of Pacman and using the drug testing, which would require drawing blood, as an escape route. Allegedly, Pacquiao is superstitious and doesn’t want to give blood right before the fight. However, according to Mayweather he was willing to compromise to make the fight happen and “whip his punk ass.”

FLOYD MAYWEATHER STATEMENT
“Throughout this whole process I have remained patient, but at this point I am thoroughly disgusted that Pacquiao and his representatives are trying to blame me for the fight not happening when clearly the blame is on them.

“First and foremost, not only do I want to fight Manny Pacquiao, I want to whip his punk ass.

“Before the mediation, my team proposed a 14-day, no blood testing window leading up to the fight. But it was rejected. I am still proposing the 14-day window but he is still unwilling to agree to it, even though this is obviously a fair compromise on my part as I wanted the testing to be up until the fight and he wanted a 30-day cut-off. The truth is he just doesn’t want to take the tests.

“In my opinion it is Manny Pacquiao and his team who are denying the people a chance to see the biggest fight ever. I know the people will see through their smokescreens and lies. I am ready to fight and sign the contract. Manny needs to stop making his excuses, step up and fight.”

According to ESPN, the fight (which could be the most lucrative in boxing history) can still happen and Mayweather seems like he’s down.

“If the welterweight title bout is to be saved, and go forward on March 13, the camps likely have until Friday or Saturday to work things out and kick off the promotion as planned early next week in New York.”

Earlier, Pacquiao had released a statement regarding his specifications for the fight regarding blood testing:

“I have offered to give a blood sample the day of the Announcement of the fight at the Press Release. I have Offered to give a blood sample 30 days before the fight. I am willing to give blood immediately after the fight is over inside my dressing room . I am also willing to give urine tests at anytime any where everyday leading up to the fight. The truth is taking blood out of my body does not seem natural to me and mentally I feel it will weaken me if blood is taken from me just days before the fight. That does not make sense to me why anyone would do that.

These accusations of me using any performance enhancing supplements are totally unwarranted and unjustified. To all of my fans I want to say thank you very much for all your support and understanding. I always give honor to God first and I would never cheat. I would never Cheat God, I would never cheat myself, and I would never cheat my country and my fans.

If Floyd Mayweather Jr. does not accept these terms than my promoter will find me another fight for March the 13th. Again I will fight anyone at anytime.”

I’m starting to feel like this whole thing is just a way to get more media attention for the fight. Who thinks it’s still going to happen March 13?
