Lupe Sets The Record Straight On Lasers, Atlantic Records

Lupe Fiasco
stopped by the The Breakfast Club on the day his long-awaited album Lasers was released.  He clarifies that he loves the album musically but he hated the process of releasing it.  He talks about the reviews the album has been getting, his issues with his record label and the music business in general, turning down “Nothin’ On You,”  possibly restructuring his deal with Atlantic Records and what he would want business wise, the overlooked success of his sophmore album The Cool, him not being a priority at the label because his albums don’t make money, but he does off touring which the label doesn’t get a part of because he refused to sign a 360 deal, ultimately changing the record around and compromising with the label to release it,  and he cites Kid CuDi and Odd Future as artists he likes artistically.
