Inspectah Deck on “The Manifesto” and being the Black Beatles

Deck says he took a hiatus from music to raise his 2 kids. He promotes his Manifesto album and says that RZA didn’t do any of the beats on it:

“In all fairness I reached out to RZA and I actually went to work with him but a lot of the beats weren’t what I needed right now…I got some tracks from RZA that wasn’t really fitting the frame of mind of where I wanted to go right now. He’s a composer right now more than a producer…”

He admits that he didn’t support the “8 Diagrams” album due to the beats and he didn’t see the vision of being the black Beatles for that album.

“Wu tang has been taking a lot of heat for the songs we’re doing, the moves we’re making. Why not just take it back to the people that got us here.”
