Most people know Diggy Simmons as the second eldest son of Rev. Run, from the hit show Run House.  So it came as a surprise to some when Diggy blew up as rapper, after he released his “Made You Look Freestyle” in Dec.’09. A bidding war started and he went on to sign with Atlantic Records. Since then, he’s released a mixtape, appeared on the XXL Freshmen cover, and started his own sneaker line. He’s currently on BET’s Closer to My Dreams tour. And he’s only 16!

He talked to The Breakfast Club about starting his music career on his own without his family’s help. He said he loves what he does and that he works hard at his craft. He’s working on his debut album, which he hopes to have out before the end of the year. His first single “Copy Paste” is available now. Envy asked him if he gets negative feedback because of the way he grew up. Angela asked him if he’s dating anyone, and he says where he would take Ang on a date. He talks about the Bruno Mars track that leaked, and who he takes on tour with him.
