Bernard Hopkins says he is going to take 26 year old Jean Pascal’s belt in Quebec City on December 18, and he plans to make history as the oldest fighter to win a significant world championship at the age of 45 (he’ll be 46 less than a month after the fight). He admits that in his latest fight against Roy Jones Jr., Roy wasn’t at his peak. The Executioner says Joe Calazghe got away with a split decision win in the States, but Calzaghe would rather retire than fight him again:
Freeway calls in to debut his song “Escalators” and talk to B Hop. Freeway brought Bernard Hopkins out when he fought Kelly Pavlik. Then Hopkins says that he listens to jazz when he trains so he can fight at his own pace even though the surroundings are different:
“If I’m fighting to music that’s upbeat I don’t want the music to control my upbeat, down or low so I take it like I’m going to fight at my own speed no matter what’s around me. So when the fight time come, when there’s 16-20,000 people that’s going to be at this fight December 18, there’s going to be a lot of noise. There’s going to be a lot of Canadians. Yeah my peoples coming from the states too, but I’m gonna be jiggin off the jazz. I’m gonna be doing my thing and I’m gonna be fast with it, but you’re gonna be listening and looking slow. At the end of the day I try myself and I train my ability to what the atmosphere is about and that’s why I listen to jazz. And it soothes me, even though I’m on a different pace, I’m listening to something that soothes my mind and gives me that style and that flow and that groove, and come December 18th I’m going to be playing some smooth jazz.”

This looks amazing! I cannot wait to try this recipe.
