NICKI MINAJ “RIGHT THROUGH ME”

So this is one of those records that I knew was going to generate tons of opinions both positive and negative.  Yes it’s more of a mainstream sounding record but when you peep the verses Nicki is killin it without funny accents, weird noises etc and it shows the girl can spit.  She may be a crossover artist at this point but her roots are in some real hip-hop type s*it.

Here’s what the listener’s thought:

GUCCI MANE & BUN B “MY LITLE FRIEND”

Wow an official Gucci Mane album finally hits retail next tues and this street banger is a definite highlight.  We may all be tired of Scarface references in 2010 but the beat knocks and the Bun B verse is sick as usual.  Now let’s all hope Gucci can stay away from problems with the boys in blue, unmarked cars, etc.

Here’s what the listener’s thought:

ICE CUBE “NO COUNTRY FOR YOUNG MEN”

He may have gone Hollywood but he’s still one of the best to ever do it and has been a pioneer by taking hip-hop music/culture places where many never thought possible as an actor, writer, producer so show some love!  His new album I Am The West hits stores 9/28 so support!

Here’s what the listener’s thought:

SKI BEATZ “SCALING THE BUILDING” FT. WIZ KHALIFA AND CURREN$Y

One of the most underappreciated producers from his work early in Jay’s career, Camp Lo and many more.  He’s back with Dame Dash cranking out heaters and this is one of the highlights from his long awaited and anticipated 24 Hour Karate School project that was released this week.  Go cop that!

Here’s what the listener’s thought:

KENDRICK LAMAR “AVERAGE JOE”

This is a young up and comer to pay attention to peoples!  He reps the west but it’s not all about banging on wax.  He’s a unique artist that is worthy of some shine so check out his new EP Overly Dedicated avail on Itunes.
