Pimp C Speaks on 97.9 Reverse Payola

While promoting his new mixtape “Can’t Ban Tha Truth” which drops September 28, Trae tha Truth reveals some dirty behind the scenes activities at the local radio station in Houston. In case you didn’t know, Trae is banned from radio in Houston (read more about that here).

Pimp C calls 97.9 in Houston, and says that program director Terri Thomas is mad at him because he refused to open for Baby and Li’l Wayne in Houston, for a free show for the radio station. Pimp C clarifies that he loves Baby and Wayne, but in Houston he shouldn’t be opening for them, just like if he was in another city he would expect to open for the local artists. Then Terri threatened to call his P.O. and say that he threatened her to get him locked up again. Pimp C says he never threatened her with bodily harm and the whole situation was reverse payola:
