This week I featured the following songs…

LUPE FIASCO FEAT. MATTHEW SANTOS “SHINING DOWN”

Reef’s take:

New music from Lupe coming off his gold album. Song features Matthew Santos who sang on Lupe’s previous hit “Superstar”. This one should help keep him on the road chipped up and get fans revved up for his new album.

Callers take:

Callers definitely liked the record, thought it was something cool to ride to.

KNOC TURN’AL “SORRY I LEFT”

Reef’s take:

The first appearance from this former Dr. Dre protégé in quite awhile. Not sure who produced this but the beat knocks and features Knoc’s trademark singing style on the hooks

Callers take:

Callers liked this one as well remembering him from his Dre days

KILLA MIKE “IMMA FOOL WIT IT” FEAT. BIG KUNTRY KING

Reef’s take:

Hot new joint from former Dungeon Fam affiliate linking up with Grand Hustle starter. Killa Mike is highly slept on as an MC in my book and rips it down on this one. Produced by Nard and B the beat will rattle amps and speakers

Callers take:

This one woke up our listeners in the south as they called in to give unanimous approval

J. COLE “SHOW ME SOMETHING”

Reef’s take:

I went a little left here to see what people think about this North Carolina newcomer signed to J-Hova’s Roc Nation label. Wasn’t sure how people would react to this because the song slightly down-tempo and a bit somber but the young cat can spit and sing so check out his new mixtape.

Caller’s take:

Callers gave the young cat a chance and showed him some love

TRICK DADDY “THIS THE SHIT THAT I LIVE”

Reef’s take:

Great new song from Trick Daddy, a guy who has been making hits for years putting Dade County on the map but has been missing in action lately. Good to see Trick back doing his thing!

Callers take:

Was a no brainer. Callers loved the record. Click below to today’s favorite.
